The two Mexican boxing legends, Canelo Álvarez and Jaime Munguía, are travelling to Las Vegas for the historic Cinco de Mayo weekend pound-for-pound showdown. On May 4, Canelo Álvarez will defend his undisputed super middleweight world title at T-Mobile Arena against undefeated all-action former world champion Jaime Munguía.
Canelo Alvarez has already solidified his place in the Hall of Fame with victories in four different weight classes. Despite all of his accomplishments, the reigning undisputed super middleweight world champion might still be in the prime of his career.
Álvarez worked with Premier Boxing Champions to set up the bout following their February split. This will be Álvarez’s first fight since September 30, when he defeated Jermell Charlo by unanimous decision to retain the undisputed middleweight title.
