James Lilley Preview
James Lilley did have a brief professional mixed martial arts career, competing mostly in local competitions and earning a 5-6-0 record before focusing on bare-knuckle combat. He excelled in the most difficult discipline, unlike many others, and presently has an 8-1-1 pro-bare-knuckle record.
Before facing Luis Palomino in June 2023 to defend his BKFC lightweight title, he was easily defeating the opponents. It was even more intriguing statistically than it was a real banger. James was more aggressive, landing 164 blows compared to the champion’s 109, although he also landed fewer total than him. In five rounds, he was eliminated by decision.
This bout essentially encapsulates Lilley’s strengths and style. He is an aggressive fighter with incredible strength and a strong combat IQ. He had won all four of his prior fights by early stoppages, save the decision loss. Despite losing his final scrap, he was granted an opportunity to compete for the crown because of these amazing stats.
Franco Tenaglia Preview
Franco Tenaglia competes practically everywhere these days as an interesting fighter. His record since being professional shows that he has competed in bare-knuckle fights in Spain and Poland, MMA, and BKFC, all of which are far lower than this division. Nonetheless, he has kept himself occupied by competing in all 11 of those disciplines since late 2020.
He is a true beast in terms of mentality and willpower, having grown up in the harsh streets of Argentina. Currently holding a 2-2-0 MMA record, he has fought twice at the BKFC and is still unbeaten. He thrashed the hard-charging Luke Nevin in his second appearance. It makes sense that he was given this incredible opportunity to win a title so early in his career.
Even though Tenaglia is the underdog, an upset could happen, it is anticipated that he will make this competitive. He prevailed by knockout in both of his BKFC matches.
James Lilley vs Franco Tenaglia Prediction
A British Man Will Become The New European Lightweight Champion. This primary event has no possibility of making it to the scorecards at all. From the moment the fight starts, both competitors turn into vicious beasts.
Naturally, there is a slight edge in bare-knuckle fighting possibilities compared to mixed martial arts or boxing. Being struck while wearing gloves is one thing; however, being struck without them puts one at risk of unconsciousness in an instant.
Though Tenaglia is a tough competitor, Lilley has the potential to take home the crown. His primary interest is BKFC, whereas Franco is significantly less experienced overall and alternates between several sports.
