How to watch the Modified World Championship this week
The Modified World Championship from Mississippi Thunder Speedway airs exclusively on GamePass, beginning on Wednesday night. GamePass is available without any subscription.
The stars of the Modified racing scene will also be present. Drivers like Rodney Sanders, Jim Chisholm, Joe Chisholm, Lucas Lee, Tom Berry, Jake Timm, and Charlie Mefford have filed entries for the event.
Practice and qualifying will be held on Wednesday prior to two nights of preliminary racing with heats, b-mains, and a pair of $2,525-to-win features on Thursday and Friday. The top-five finishers from each of the four preliminaries will be automatically entered into the main event on Saturday.
An “alphabet soup” format, similar to what is used at the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals, will be used to give drivers a chance to move forward and potentially lock into the main event.
That unique format will set the stage for the 80-lap Modified World Championship main event, where 30 Modified drivers will battle for the $100,025 check. In addition to the massive winner’s check, the runner-up finisher will take home $30,000, and the third-place driver will collect $15,000.
